fundraising assistant - events (2-year contract, renewable) / temporary fundraising assistant - events (6-month contract)
This position will assist in the implementation, evaluation, documentation and other post-event follow-up of the fundraising events/activities delegated to her/him.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment and servicing of participants and volunteers
- Source for venues and help arrange for all logistics and to conduct briefing for participants, volunteers and staff
- Coordinate meetings with event partners and production of minor printed items within the team
- Perform receipting; maintain proper record of participants, volunteers and other contacts for future use
- Attend and take turns to be secretary of the monthly Events Team meeting and take notes of current events/activities for future reference
- Participate in the decision-making process within the team
- Attend in the monthly OHK staff meeting and agency-wide events
- Handle additional tasks and assignments as requested by the Fundraising Manager – Events
Requirements:
- Degree holder is preferred, but open to associate degree or higher diploma holder with at least 1 year working experience in events, fundraising, or marketing.
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays as required.
- Good customer service, interpersonal and organisational skills, detail-oriented, work flexibly & creatively.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Proficient in computer applications including MS Office and Chinese word processing.
- Immediate availability is highly preferable.
- Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
