RECORD BREAKING:The first three teams finished 100 km-long Oxfam Trailwalker 2012 under 12 hours
16 November 2012 HONG KONG: S42 “SALOMON FRANCE” Team (Photo 1) was the first to finish Oxfam Trailwalker 2012, taking only 11 hours and 12 minutes to complete the arduous 100-kilometre trail from Sai Kung to Yuen Long. Their team members include Julien Chorier, Francois D'haene, Michel Lanne and Andy Symonds.
The second team to arrive was S41, from the “Salomon Bonaqua Racing” team (Photo 2), finishing in 11 hours 16 minutes. Their team members include Michael Maddess, Jeremy Michael Ritcey, Samir Tamang and Ram Kumar Khatri.
The third team to arrive was S35, “The North Face” team (Photo 3), which completed the trail in 11 hours 52 minutes. Their team members include Ryan Scott Blair, Tsang Siu Keung, Tsuyoshi Kaburaki and Jantaraboon Kiangchaipaiphana.
Mr. Bernard Chan, Chair of Oxfam Trailwalker Advisory Committee; Dr. Stephen Fisher, Director General from Oxfam Hong Kong; Mr. Herman Tse, Vice President, Community Support Program Chair, State Street, greeted the teams at the Finish and presented them with certificates.
In 2010 and 2011, the first team finished in 11 hours 59 minutes and 12 hours 22 minutes respectively.
More than 10,000 people participated in Oxfam Trailwalker 2012, including 4,800 walkers, more than 6,000 support team members, staff and volunteers.
