(PM) S53 ‘2XU UFO’ first local team to finish first since 2009 Team completed Oxfam Trailwalker 2015 in just 11 hours 58 minutes

(20 November 2015): S53 ‘2XU UFO’ (Photo 1) was the first team to finish Oxfam Trailwalker 2015, using only 11 hours and 58 minutes to complete the arduous trail from Sai Kung to Yuen Long. ‘2XU UFO’ is the first local team to finish first since the new route was introduced in 2009. Their team members are Tsang Chun Kit, Law Chor Kin, Lam Shing Yip, Tang Sun Kam.

The second team to arrive was S06, from the ‘Champion System Adventure’ (Photo 2), finishing in 12 hours 21 minutes. Their team members include Ryan Scott Blair, Siu Keung Tsang, Ho Chung Wong and Piers McDonald Touzel.

The third team to arrive was S04, ‘善跑’ team (Photo 3), which completed the trail in 12 hours 52 minutes. Their team members include Casey Morgan, Julien Chorier, Yeray Duran Lopez and Pau Capell Gil.

Trini Leung, Director General, Oxfam Hong Kong, and KK Low, Head of AIA Vitality, AIA Hong Kong and Macau, the Principal Sponsor, greeted the teams at the Finish Point and presented them with certificates.

In 2014 and 2013, the first team finished in 11 hours and 56 minutes, and 10 hours and 58 minutes respectively.

More than 10,000 people participated in Oxfam Trailwalker 2015, including 5,200 walkers, more than 8,000 support team members, staff and volunteers. The Trailwalkers will take up the 100 km challenge in teams of four, aiming to finish within 48 hours. The Start Point is at Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung and the Finish Point is at Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long. Through the years, Oxfam Trailwalker has become one of the largest fundraising hiking events in Hong Kong and it is held in 16 cities in 10 countries (including Hong Kong) this year.
