Oxfam Trailwalker, Hong Kong’s most popular fundraising hiking event organised by Oxfam Hong Kong (OHK), ended successfully this afternoon when the last team ‘4INLOVE’ (team number 1071) crossed the finish line in Yuen Long at 12:49 pm today, completing the 100 km trail in 46 hours 49minutes.
Trini Leung, Director General of OHK, presented certificates to the teams and other supporting organisations at the closing ceremony. This year, 4,308 participants completed the 100 km trail within the required 48 hours, i.e. 87% of all walkers.
Trini Leung said, ‘The theme this year is ‘We are Trailwalkers’. Each team made it this far and has shown great determination and commitment in overcoming all the obstacles and difficulties along the trail. The same applies to our work against poverty. Eliminating poverty is a long and arduous journey. It requires the same trailwalking spirit you all demonstrated. We would like to thank all our walkers, sponsors, support organisations, volunteers and donors for their generous contributions to Oxfam Trailwalker 2017!’
